The South Malling Curriculum
REACH FOR THE STARS- the South Malling Vision
At South Malling Church of England School we believe everyone should be enabled to “live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). Our vision therefore, is to give everyone the opportunities and be encouraged to:
Be Curious and Creative - as we gain knowledge and skills.
Communicate considerately and constructively - Listening and responding with care and respect
Become active, lifelong learners - Learning from all we do, including our mistakes and celebrating our successes.
Think as global citizens and act as local citizens - Caring for one another and our environment with courage, kindness and generosity.
‘Work at it with all your heart’ (Colossians 3:23) - In whatever we do.
As a Church of England school our Christian values support everything we do. In reaching for the stars we endeavour to work hard to be the best we can be. This is how we interpret Paul’s words in Colossians 3:23 “work at it with all your heart”. We use this approach in whatever we do, individually and collectively, as pupils, in the staff team, and as a whole school.
There are many Christian values, from which we have chosen six to highlight this year. These values are shared by us all, whether we are Christians or not and are taught through our Collective Worship and assembly programme.
